IF I WORKED AT INSTAGRAM
Create Your Own Filter
Edit your photos with one Tap!
💁🏼♀️ "IF I WORKED AT" SERIES
This post is a part of a series where I use my passion for Product Design to shamelessly make improvements to the applications and websites of company’s I want to work for.
HIRE ME, HERE’S WHY!
Hello WorlD:
Today Instagram announced the Create a Filter feature!
This allows you to custom filter your photos in just one tap! Gone are the days of trying to remember which of the 14 editing options you used in a previous post. Consistency is key. With this update you can create a filter from your editing options and re-use them in the future.

Create Filter
This button allows you to Create a Filter from the editing options you’ve applied to your photo. This will allow you to apply these same options to future photos.
NAME YOUR FILTER
You are able to custom name the filter you have created. Here we have created a filter named “Food Porn” so we can use this filter again for future food posts.
FILTER CREATED!
Once your filter is created, it will appear in the Filter Tab in the photo editing section.
.
MANAGE Filters
Once you start creating filters, you’ll be able to add, remove, and rearrange them in the Manage Filters section already found in the app.
Multiple photos
Prior to this feature, there was no way for you to apply your own editing options to multiple photos all at once.
With this update, you will be able to tap the filter you created to apply it to all photos. Don’t worry, you’ll still be able to individually tweak these photos individually too.
Save Old Options
With this update you are even able to go back and save the editing options from an old post.
